This first song is the latest single from Fontaines DC's new album Romance and is a follow up from their much darker previous single which was inspired by a panic attack at St Pancras Railway station. In contrast, this single, Favourite, and the video are more optimistic and steeped in nostalgia, with a wistful look back at the childhoods of the band members. Frontman Grian Chatten describes the song as "this never-ending sound to it, a continuous cycle from euphoria to sadness, two worlds spinning forever".
To pair with this I've chosen Botanical Garden by Anna Erhard, which was inspired by a review she read where someone was complaining about the lack of parking in the Atlantic. This led to a story about someone who is so disappointed with everything that they even complain about the flowers in the Botanical Garden.
